Meet the Owners
Daniel Polikoff
Daniel has a background in cell and molecular biology and cancer research with a graduate Master's degree from San Francisco State University. His undergraduate degree was obtained at Loyola Marymount University in 1986 in Biology and pre-med with a minor in biopsychology.
He spent about 16 years working at a private biotech in Palo Alto and UCSF in the Mt. Zion cancer research center, and was published in the Proceedings for the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) for his graduate work at Lawrence Berkeley labs — discovering and mapping 2 new genes thought to be involved in breast and ovarian cancer progression.
After a repetitive strain injury at the lab, he became a licensed real estate agent and worked at Prudential and J. Rockcliff Realtors. He then entered the moving industry, working his way up from sales to dispatcher, operations manager, general manager, and eventually owner. He opened Quantum Moving in 2018. Being a scientist, he pays attention to every detail.
Rogelio Cortes
Rogelio started working in the moving industry in 2012 where he met Daniel and started a friendship. Dan could see how hard Rogelio worked — very careful with customers' goods and deeply committed to the quality of service offered.
About 5 years later, after Dan had been running another moving company for a few years, the two stayed in touch and decided to go into business together. Dan brought sales, estimating, customer service and marketing skills; Rogelio brought two trucks and the operations knowledge. A perfect partnership was born, and Quantum Moving was formed.
Rogelio is happily married with 3 beautiful kids and a loving wife, Leticia. He is the most careful driver and mover on the team — kind, friendly with all customers, 100% honest, and one of the most trustworthy movers in the business.
